Where did you grow up, and what brought you to Harrisonburg?

I grew up in Mattoon, a small town in the middle of Illinois. I came to the Harrisonburg area after my husband and I got married because he works at JMU.

How does your faith happen in your daily life?

The core of my faith is to be as community minded as I can possibly be. Building connections with others and taking care of one another is part of my day to day life. I feel closest to God when I see the community together.

What is a fun fact about you that may surprise people?

I watch cartoons more than I watch any live action t.v. shows.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

Children ask the most beautiful and thoughtful questions. I love seeing them grow in their understanding of God and themselves.

Ask me about:

90's Christian music.

My favorite word in the English language is:

“Hootenanay” (just say it out loud)

If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve:

Lots of food and laughter.

If we held a talent show, I’d wow everyone with:

My child wrangling talent.
