Sermons are one of the essential ways that our community connects with God’s Word.

The sermon is an opportunity each week for the preacher to proclaim the gospel hope of Jesus found through his life, death, and resurrection, and invite listeners to dialogue with the text in their own hearts and among their community.  You’ll find that our sermons are sometimes organized by key themes of the liturgical season or the thematic focus of a particular sermon series.  But the Word of God, and the opportunity to proclaim both the law and gospel found there, remains at the heart of preaching.  In this way, Christ–the Living Word–is preaching and teaching among us today.

We invite you to use this page as a resource for connecting with God’s Word, catching up on a sermon you missed, or learning more about a particular theme.  From September to May our sermons follow texts found in the Narrative Lectionary, a four-year cycle of weekly appointed biblical readings that covers the whole story arc of scripture from Genesis to the New Testament letters.  The summertime is often marked by shorter thematic sermon series.  We hope you’ll share these sermons with others if you find them moving or thought provoking, and use the comments to ask questions and engage in a dialogue around the texts!
