Where did you grow up, and what brought you to Harrisonburg?

I spent part of my childhood in the vibrant city of Shanghai, China, and the other part in the beautiful city of Yokohama, Japan. When I began my Doctorate studies, I made my way to Harrisonburg, where I’ve embraced new opportunities and experiences.

How does your faith happen in your daily life?

Every morning and evening, I take a moment to pray and express my gratitude to God for the blessings in my life. It's a comforting ritual that helps me reflect on the good I have and the journey I'm on.

What is a fun fact about you that may surprise people?

I enjoy playing basketball, and when I was 10 years old, I broke a local record for the 800 meters in my age group.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

I love connecting with people through music. It's amazing how it transcends boundaries of age and nationality, bringing us together in a shared experience that feels universal.

Ask me about:

Faking a language while maintaining a confident exterior.

My favorite word in the English language is:

“Harmony.”

If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve:

A world-wide "Procrastination Day." This holiday would be dedicated to the fine art of putting things off until tomorrow, or maybe the day after. On this day, everyone would be encouraged to embrace their inner procrastinator.

If we held a talent show, I’d wow everyone with:

My free-throw talent.
