Lenten Recitals at Muhlenberg!

“Coming Home,” our 16th Annual Lenten Recital Series, begins Thursday (3/13) at 12:00 noon and continues on Thursdays in Lent (except for one recital on a Monday - see below!) This year’s recital series will feature vocalists and instrumentalists from the local community. All recitals are in the Muhlenberg Sanctuary and will also be live-streamed to Muhlenberg’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

LENTEN RECITAL SCHEDULE:

  • Thursday (3/13) – Dr. Bryce Hayes, Associate Director of Choral Studies at JMU, will play and sing selections from his newly released album!

  • Thursday, March 20 - Matthew O. Thomas, piano - Our Music Minister will perform works of Telemann, Mendelssohn and Chopin.

  • Thursday, March 27 - Beth Chandler Cahill, flute and Paulo Steinberg, piano - Two JMU professors will collaborate on this exciting recital, In My Mind’s Eye: Music of Memory, Imagination, and Reflection.

  • Monday, March 31 (7:00 pm*) - The Lenoir-Rhyne A Cappella Choir and Brass Ensemble - This amazingly talented group will delight in a special performance at Muhlenberg on their way home to Hickory, NC.

  • Thursday, April 3 - The Musicians of Muhlenberg - A special recital featuring a wealth of talented Muhlenberg vocalists and instrumentalists.

  • Thursday, April 10 - Linlin Uta, piano - Our Music Ministry Accompanist and JMU faculty member and Doctoral Candidate will perform a piano recital.
